History of Source Cable
Source Cable Limited is a family owned business that's been in operation in Hamilton since 1974. Source Cable started with a handful of "over-the-air" Canadian and U.S. broadcast television channels. Today we offer over 380 television and audio channels. We also offer HDTV, On Demand, Pay-Per-View, the Super Sports Package and Premium Movie channels. As they say...something for everyone!
In 2000, we introduced High Speed Internet and 70% of our customers now enjoy this reliable and ultra fast service. In 2005 we launched our Home Phone services, where customers can save over $200 per year. It's not surprising that over 50% of them have now switched from the competition to Source Home Phone. In 2009 we started Source Security Services for residents and businesses in the greater Hamilton and Burlington areas. Today we provide security to homes and businesses in Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, St. Catharines, Niagara.....all over Southern Ontario! Like our Internet and Home Phone launches before it, it's been a great success to date!
What’s next?
Well, it's safe to say we'll continue to add new services and improve our overall technical performance. We now offer 59 High Definition Television channels and On Demand movies in High Definition. We introduced a new Home Phone Basic service at only $19.99/MO for customers who really want to save money! and Ultra Lite Internet for only $19.99/MO. Plus, none of our 5 Internet Services have "Bit Caps" like the competition. We've redesigned our Wireless Internet network and implemented Docsis 3.0 which allows us to offer customers ultra fast Internet services with download speeds of up to 25Mbps.
