History of Source Cable
Source Cable Limited is a family owned business that's been in operation in Hamilton since 1974. Source Cable started with a handful of "over-the-air" Canadian and U.S. broadcast television channels. Today we offer 376 television and audio channels. We also offer HDTV, On Demand, Pay-Per-View, Super Sports Package and Premium Movie channels. As they say...something for everyone!
In 2000, we introduced High Speed Internet and 70% of our customers now enjoy this reliable and ultra fast service. In 2005 we launched our Home Phone services, where customers can save over $275 per year. It's not surprising that 40% of them have now switched from the competition to Source Home Phone. In 2009 we started Source Security Services for residents and businesses in the greater Hamilton and Burlington areas. Like our Internet and Home Phone launches before it, it's been a great success to date!
What’s next?
Well, it's safe to say we'll continue to add new services and improve our overall technical performance. We now offer 55 High Definition Television channels with plans in 2010 to offer some On Demand movies in High Definition. We'll be looking for more On Demand opportunities similar to the 2010 Winter Olympics where we offered over 700 On Demand hours free to all of our digital cable customers. We introduced a new Home Phone Basic service at only $19.99/MO for customers who really want to save money! We've redesigned our Wireless Internet network and we've also implemented Docsis 3.0 which allows us to offer customers ultra fast Internet services with download speeds of up to 25Mbps.
